Approach
How THAsoft works
A simple, repeatable way of working. It keeps attention on the problem, makes progress visible and avoids building more than is needed.
Step 1: Understand the problem
Start with the people, the process and the pain point, not the technology.
Clarify who is affected, what happens today, what a good outcome looks like and what constraints apply. A clearly stated problem is the most valuable early deliverable.
Step 2: Identify opportunities
Find where software, automation or AI can make a real difference.
Compare options, including simple non-technical ones. Prioritise by value, effort and risk, and be explicit about what will not be done.
Step 3: Design the solution
Shape an approach that fits the problem, the budget and the team.
Define the architecture, data, security and user experience at the level of detail the problem needs. Use prototypes to test the riskiest assumptions early.
Step 4: Engineer and deploy
Build in small, reviewable increments and release carefully.
Write maintainable, tested code, automate builds and deployments where it pays off, and document what is needed to operate the result.
Step 5: Measure and improve
Check the outcome against the original problem and keep improving.
Use agreed measures, observe real usage and feed what is learned back into the next iteration.
Principles
What guides the work
- Problem first
- Technology is chosen to serve the problem, never the other way round.
- Small and visible
- Short iterations make progress, risk and cost easy to see.
- Humans in the loop
- AI and automation support people's judgement where it matters.
- Built to last
- Simple, documented solutions that others can run and extend.
Have a problem worth solving?
Describe the challenge in a few lines. A short, practical conversation is usually the best first step.
